10 large commercial banks are going to be audited by 5 auditors shortlisted by the Central Bank. Nepal Rastra Bank shortlisted the auditors from the list of applicants, who had sent their applications in the second week of March.
The Central Bank has shortlisted three foreign auditors and 2 Nepali auditing companies for the external audit of 10 large commercial banks.
The three foreign auditors are:
- Deloitte Financial Advisors BV of Netherlands.
- KPMG Assurance & Consultancy Services of India.
- KPMG Tasir Hadi & Company of Pakistan.
The two domestic auditors are:
- JV SRBA & BK Agarwal Chartered Accountants.
- JV CSC & Price Water House Copper Pvt. Ltd.
One of the auditors from the list will be appointed to audit the commercial banks. The National Bank is checking 10 big banks that give a lot of loans. They’re getting help from the International Monetary Fund to do an outside check on these banks.
