Khanikhola Hydropower to Issue 100% Right Shares

Khanikhola Hydropower Company Limited (KKHC) has announced it will open its 100% right share issue to existing shareholders starting from Bhadra 3, 2082 BS. This means shareholders will be able to apply for one new share for every one share they currently hold. The company will issue a total of 46,57,143 units of right shares, each with a face value of Rs. 100, amounting to Rs. 46.57 crores. The book closure date was on Asar 27, meaning only those who held KKHC shares on or before Asar 26 are eligible to apply. The application window will remain open until Bhadra 23, 2082.

ICRA Nepal has rated this issue as [ICRANP] B, which indicates high credit risk and uncertainty regarding the company’s ability to meet its financial obligations on time. The issue manager for this offering is Citizens Capital Limited. Interested investors can apply through selected branches of Kumari Bank and Citizens Bank International, including their branches in major cities like Lalitpur, Kumaripati, Thimi, Biratnagar, Birtamod, Birgunj, Surkhet, Janakpur, Nepalgunj, Narayangadh, Dhangadhi, Pokhara, Butwal, and Hetauda. Applications are also accepted online via Mero Share or through any CASBA-participating banks authorized by the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON).

Currently, KKHC has a paid-up capital of Rs. 46.57 crores, which will double to Rs. 93.14 crores after this right share allotment. The proceeds from the issue will primarily be used to repay debt, reduce interest burden, and strengthen the company’s equity base for future expansion.
