July 7, 2025 NEPSE Market Summary | NEPSE Falls to 2,684.76 as Market Sentiment Turns Negative and Finance Sector Drops Over 3%

On July 7, 2025, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) opened with a slight upward movement. The index dropped to a low of 2,698.29 before climbing to an intraday high of 2,713.68. However, the market could not sustain the gains and continued to decline for the rest of the day, ultimately closing at 2,684.76.

The overall market sentiment remained negative. The total turnover declined to NPR 8.37 Arba, down from NPR 9.50 Arba in the previous session.

Market Summary

At the close of trading, 19,415,688 shares had been exchanged through 71,313 transactions, involving 311 listed scripts. Out of these, only 39 companies saw price gains, while 209 declined, and none remained unchanged. Despite the drop, investor interest remained active across certain sectors.

Top Turnover Companies

Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) topped the turnover list with NPR 80.74 crore. Its stock rose by 0.97%, closing at Rs. 1,322.30. Guardian Micro Life Insurance Ltd. (GMLI) followed with NPR 41.71 crore, and NRN Infrastructure and Development Ltd. (NRN) came in third with NPR 24.17 crore.

Top Gainers

Mathillo Mailun Khola Jalvidhyut Ltd. (MMKJL) was the top gainer of the day, rising by 6.56%. Corporate Development Bank Ltd. (CORBL) followed with a 6.28% gain, and Bhagawati Hydropower Development Company Ltd. (BGWT) rose by 4.06%.

Rapti Hydro and General Construction Ltd. (RHGCL) was the biggest loser, falling by 10.00% to close at Rs. 387.90. Goodwill Finance Ltd. Debenture 2083 (GWFD83) declined by 9.66%, while Green Development Bank Ltd. (GRDBL) dropped by 9.49%.

In terms of transaction count, Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) led the day with 2,198 trades, closing at Rs. 721.00. It was followed by Himalayan Reinsurance Ltd. (HRL) with 1,562 trades, ending at Rs. 934.00, and Sahas Urja Ltd. (SAHAS) with 1,544 trades, closing at Rs. 588.00.
