Nepal’s Revenue Collection Rises by Over NPR 120 Billion in FY 2081/82

Nepal’s revenue collection for the fiscal year 2081/82 reached NPR 1.178 trillion (11 kharba 78 arba 82 crore), marking a year-on-year increase of NPR 120 billion compared to the previous fiscal year.

In FY 2080/81, the government collected a total of NPR 1.058 trillion in revenue. That means revenue has grown by 11.33% this year.

Revenue Target vs. Actual Collection

Initially, the government had set an ambitious revenue target of NPR 1.419 trillion for FY 2081/82. However, after the mid-year review, the target was revised down to NPR 1.286 trillion.

Out of this revised target, 91.60% has been achieved.

Government’s View

Uttarkumar Khatri, head of the Revenue Division at the Ministry of Finance, stated that despite natural disasters and challenging global conditions, the revenue performance compared to last year is encouraging.

“We’ve already begun preparations to meet the target in the current fiscal year,” said Khatri.
The new goal for FY 2082/83 is set at NPR 1.315 trillion (13 kharba 15 arba).
