The Iwakhola Hydroelectric Project has effectively restarted operations after being temporarily suspended due to heavy flooding in Eastern Nepal, thanks to the efforts of Ridi Power Company Limited. The 9.9 MW Iwakhola Hydroelectric Project draws water from the Iwakhola River, which runs along the boundary between the districts of Taplejung and Panchthar.

The project has been in operation since Ashwin 20, 2076. However, heavy flooding on Jestha 32, 2080, caused serious damage to the powerhouse, dam site, gates, and headrace pipe, causing a stop in electricity generation.

After completing the necessary repairs and reconstruction, Ridi Power Company Limited resumed the supply of electricity to the national transmission line at 12:30 PM on Jestha 15, 2081.
