Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has urged Nepal’s diplomatic missions abroad to expand exports proactively, promote tourism, and manage foreign employment. On Thursday, Shrestha addressed Nepal’s Ambassadors and Mission Chiefs virtually, highlighting the government’s focus on economic diplomacy.
Shrestha emphasized the need for Nepali Ambassadors to prioritize the welfare and security of Nepali migrant workers in their host countries. He noted the disparity between foreign investment commitments and actual inflows, instructing missions to secure Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and foreign assistance as pledged.
Referring to the recent Third Investment Summit, Shrestha directed diplomatic missions to follow up with participants and inform them about investment opportunities in Nepal. He encouraged ambassadors to explore international markets for Nepal’s exportable goods, attract investors, and promote Nepal as an appealing investment destination.
Additionally, Shrestha urged ambassadors to actively promote Nepal as a preferred tourism destination worldwide.
