A budget of Rs 25.70 billion has been announced by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) for the fiscal year 2081–2082. At the 15th municipal assembly meeting, Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol presented the budget, which was reduced by Rs 170 million from the year before. The budget allocation is as follows:

  • Infrastructure Development: Rs 14.81 billion (61.20%)
  • Administrative Expenses: Rs 3.49 billion (14.44%)
  • Social Sector: Rs 3.81 billion (15.75%)
  • Good Governance: Rs 1.89 billion (7.82%)

An additional Rs 1.50 billion will be collected from land integration projects, increasing the total estimated revenue generation from reserve funds to Rs 24.20 billion. The remaining funds will come from grants from the federal and provincial governments.
