The Executive Committee of the Merchant Bankers Association of Nepal visited the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) office in Khumaltar, Lalitpur, on Mangsir 13, 2081, to meet the newly appointed chairman, Mr. Santosh Narayan Shrestha. Currently, the Merchant Bankers Association represents 31 merchant banking institutions in Nepal.

SEBON had been without a chairman since 5 Poush, 2080—the meeting aimed to discuss critical tasks necessary to strengthen the capital market. President Mr. Ramendra Rayamajhi, Vice President Mr. Manish Narayan Joshi, and Outgoing President Mr. Bijay Lal Shrestha represented the association at the meeting.

During the discussions, Mr. Ramendra Rayamajhi emphasized adopting advanced technologies in the capital market. He pointed out how these technologies could improve regulatory processes, boost market efficiency, and enhance investor confidence through better transparency and reliability.

In response, SEBON Chairman Mr. Santosh Narayan Shrestha reaffirmed his commitment to building a clean, transparent, and technology-driven capital market. He assured the attendees of his plans to implement stricter regulations and effective supervision to ensure fairness and integrity in the market.

This collaborative effort marks a significant step forward in improving Nepal’s capital market infrastructure and governance.
