Phaindra Pandey Appointed as Executive Director of Nepal Tea and Coffee Development Board

The government has appointed Phaindra Pandey as the Executive Director of Nepal Tea and Coffee Development Board. The decision was made during a cabinet meeting held on Monday night. Pandey, who hails from Lamjung, will now lead the board.

Recommendation Process

  • A recommendation committee formed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development had shortlisted seven candidates for the position.
  • On 19 Ashad 2081, the committee requested the shortlisted candidates to submit their business plans for evaluation.
  • On 8 Poush, Gaurav Luintel, Nawaraj Sapkota, Phaindra Raj Pandey, and Manoj Basnet presented their business plans and were interviewed.
  • On 9 Poush, Rajendra Shrestha, Ramchandra Dhakal, and Dr. Vishnu Prasad Bhattarai were interviewed and presented their plans.

Appointment Process

After reviewing the presentations and interviews, the committee recommended Phaindra Pandey as the most suitable candidate. The cabinet approved his appointment as the board’s Executive Director.

Phaindra Pandey, from Lamjung, brings extensive experience in the tea and coffee development sector. His appointment is expected to boost the production and export of tea and coffee in Nepal.
